Snowfall gets a liner

Nothing like a road trip to get in some quality knitting.  I am using the yarn I dyed with beets. The color has really faded & it's starting to pool in some weird ways so I am glad this is just for some color to maybe peek through the white on the exterior layer. And to make it super warm.

Snowfall Update

Ran out of the one skein of Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Bulky I picked up in San Francisco, so am planning to knit inside cap out of beet Dyed yarn...but that could change. You can see in one pic the row where the knits fold over. I wanted a thicker band over my cold sensitive ears. I also did my hat with only 1 purl between flowers versus 2 in pattern. When I got to the top I did a lot of decreases over a few rows to form the flat base for the bobble.

But the bobble just makes it.

My new project I started for the fur pompom bobble I got at VKL. I bought the pattern Hoa but wanted a band and wanted it to be super warm, so I am double knitting up a cap inside. There is a YouTube video to help with the flower detail but I still managed to do a row with twisted petals. You can see the ones I fixed at the beginning of the row on the left and examples of the ones I messed up on the right.

A pic of a knitting pattern with my grandmother's handwriting. Priceless. I will have to put these on my to do list.

Funky Chunky Cowl

This is Funky Chunky from Third Piece that I picked up from their booth at VKL last month.  They had a free pattern download and I made this cool cowl. Glad she talked me into this lovely shade of lavender and it's been a staple this past month.

Fine fingered update

I remember why I usually like to work with thicker weight yarn. It can be tedious to work with something this fine. But ultimately worth it. This pattern is simple enough to do in front of the TV but it was challenging to try and frog a whole section while we were on a road trip. I almost gave up & ended up redoing so much I hardly accomplished anything the whole 2 weeks I was gone. But now it is starting to take shape. And a surprising one at that.
